Every pair of birdwells I’ve ever bought has stood up to the test at my lifeguarding job. I started using the surf stretch no too long ago and am just as pleased as much as the OG surfnyl. I’m a die hard fan because I love quality and simplicity.

The best trunks for surfing

I already have a pair of customised SurfNyl - so I was excited to try the SurfStretch: they are perfect in any way; heavy duty, size fit and I really like the wide laces. Thanks Birdwell :-)

How comfortable are 808 shorts? Recently I was mauled by a 12' Bull Shark on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. I have a long road ahead of me which includes learning how to walk again. I chose to do my rehabilitation in Birdwell 808 shorts as they are the most comfortable shorts on the planet.

These are by far the best board shorts I’ve ever owned. The all around fit is perfect and super comfortable with the fabric used. I love the design of all Birdwell’s shorts, reminds me of my younger years. I will never buy any other brand after owning these.

i thought i loved my original SurfNyl board shorts…that was until i tried the SurfStretch board shorts. i’ve got 2 pair and they’re the only board shorts i’ll wear for the rest of my days. they’re comfortable, quick drying, and they look great in and out of the water.

I have only had them for a week. I have worn them twice. SCUBA diving and swimming in a pool. They were comfortable and covered my butt. What more do you want?

I'm a Hawaiian ocean safety officer Lifeguard for 28 years, birdwell's are the only kinda shorts I like to wear especially for water workouts ocean or pool competitions. The 305's are my favorite.

Cool design and Functional material.

I got my husband these boardies for his 53rd Birthday... we own a surf shop... he can wear anything he wants.... he has been wanting Birdwell's for over 35 years. His quote "best boardies I have ever had on". HIs new favorite and he is already planning his next pair. Now I need a pair of my own ! Keep on doing what you do Birdwell!

I was a little skeptical about spending this much on a pair of board shorts but these are amazing they feel great are made very well and they fit true to size. I love them bought another pair!!!

Retro look with comfort

Wow..my navy blue Birdwell board shorts are the best bathing suit I’ve ever purchased. Great fit, look and very comfortable. I really like how quickly they dry. Makes for a better experience on my SeaRay when we are hosting our guests.

The US flag patch was also a super nice touch.

We ordered a pair of the 808s for our brother-in-law for his birthday. He loves ‘em!! He’s a true salty dog who knows great quality and this gift made his Summer…starting in May!

Trunks fit amazing! I will say the trunks are for the slender man. I had a pair when I was chubbier and they fit terrible. It was hard to pull the trigger again for such expensive trunks but if I have the means to support an American company with American made products, I’ll pay the extra money knowing I am supporting a business that supports it’s employees.

Loved these 808’s and was excited to get them, but they run large and I had to return them. The return process was simple and my new shorts are on the way! Birdwell was great to work with!

Not too long. Dry fast. You can hop out of the water and be dry in 10-15min. They're not baggy and don't bunch up. They stretch and look great.

Quality is great. BUT shipping is f@ckin ridiculous. No reason a hat is $15 shipping.

Been wearing Birdwells since 1978 and for some reason for the last ten years other's have been buying my suits for me and though I really appreciate the gifts, they weren’t Birdwell’s. I told my wife I was buying a new suit and they were going to be Birdwell’s! She said I could save money and buy something else and I said I could but they would never be as good as a pair of Birdwell’s. After she saw them she loved them and told me I should get another pair, she knew quality when she saw them. Love them!

These are amazing shorts for any water sport. I got these for my husband while he jet skis.
