Once an order has been placed, it cannot be canceled or altered. If there is an issue with the shipping address, please message us through our contact page or send an email to service@birdwell.com as soon as possible.
Don't see your confirmation email? Please make sure to check your junk/spam folder, as our emails can end up there. Otherwise, please reach out to us, and we will be able to resend that to you.
If two orders are placed separately, they will be shipped separately and cannot be combined.
Domestic Shipping
We offer free standard domestic shipping for orders over $250.
Standard: After 1-3 day processing, your order will arrive within 3-7 business days.
Expedited: After 1-3 day processing, your order will arrive within 3 business days.
Please allow up to 3 business days for processing prior to your order shipping. Note that peak periods (holidays and promos) may result in additional processing time. Our processing and shipping days do not include weekends. If your order is placed after 12 PM PST, your order will begin processing the next business day.
During peak periods, shipping carriers can experience delays, which may affect an order’s estimated delivery date. Please check your tracking number for updates.
Please note that once an order has been placed, we are unable to make changes to it.
Free Shipping on orders of $130 and up
The free shipping will be offered at checkout when an order's subtotal is $130 and over.
My tracking says delivered, but I can't locate the package:
If your package has been marked as delivered but cannot be found we ask that you please first make a official claim with USPS or FedEx before reaching out to customer service.
After you have the claim number please contact us at service@birdwell.com with your claim number and order number.
Return Policy
Unused, unworn, and unwashed Birdwell products can be returned or exchanged within 30 days. Final sale products cannot be returned or exchanged. Shipping charges are non-refundable.
Holiday Return Policy
Any unused, unworn, and unwashed Birdwell products purchased between 11/19/2025-1/7/2026 are eligible for store credit or exchange only.

How do I return my order?
Domestic customers can start a return or exchange at any time by visiting our Returns Center – here.
Follow the steps in the Return Center to request a return. Once your return has been created, you will receive a return shipping label via email, and you may drop your package at any USPS location.
Please only send your return(s) with the label we provide through our Return Center.
How do exchanges work?
To start an exchange, please submit your request through our return center using your order number (PO#) and email address. Once the exchange item(s) are selected, a card number will be needed for a temporary authorization that will be placed on your card.
This is only a hold, not a charge. The hold allows us to ship your replacement item right away. Once your original item is sent back and scanned by the carrier, the hold is automatically released, and you will not be charged.
Gift Returns & Exchanges
To exchange or return an order that was a gift, you will need the order number and email address used for the order. If you don't have that, please reach out to us here, and we can help further.
The cost per return for a refund request is $10, which will be subtracted from your refund.
For international returns, customers are responsible for sending back the item/s from the order they want to return.

If you'd like to return or exchange a gift, please use our gift return option in our return portal. Otherwise, please contact us via service@birdwell.com.
Initiate a return or exchange at any time by visiting the Birdwell Returns Center.
Discount codes are not stackable with sale promotions or other codes. One discount per product will be accepted at checkout. We cannot apply a discount code once an order has been placed.
To apply a code, enter the entire code exactly how it was received under "Discount code or gift card" at checkout.
Product Guarantee
Birdwell guarantees workmanship and materials, including but not limited to fabric, seams, drawstrings, grommets, Velcro, buckles, and buttons for a product's lifetime. All damaged products are subject to evaluation by Birdwell customer service.
What does "lifetime guarantee" mean?
"Lifetime" is when, under regular use, the product can no longer serve the purpose for which it was created.
Unfortunately, this does not mean your lifetime. The natural breakdown of colors and materials over extended time and use is considered normal wear and tear. It should be expected of any garment that spends most of its life outdoors. Wear it proudly. Birdwell looks best with a well-worn patina, making it uniquely yours and reflecting time well spent.
When you say "normal wear and tear" or "normal use," what do you mean?
After lots of time outside, a once vibrant red may turn a lighter, sun-bleached hue. You might have some wax residue on the seat or in the pocket. The drawstring may fray slightly after lacing up for the umpteenth time. These are normal wear and tear, not defective workmanship or materials.
Birdwell gear is built to last, but remember that the elements and chemicals you may experience at the beach, on the river, or hanging at the neighbor's pool are some of the harshest the world has to offer.
What is not covered by the guarantee?
Our guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear or product damage caused by misuse, negligence, or accident. This includes but is not limited to damage caused by:
- Extensive wear.
- Changes in fit.
- Abuse of product.
- Chemicals.
- Disregard for the product care or wash instructions.
- Stains - including but not limited to: food, bleach, sunscreen, zinc, chlorine, etc.
- Third-party alterations made to the product.
- An animal.
- Mishandling by airlines or third-party shipping companies.
Based on the recommended care instructions, Birdwell is not responsible for any stains or damage to a purchased product or personal belonging/garment.

What size should I buy for boardshorts?
We suggest sizing up by one from your regular pant size for SurfNyl® boardshorts (300 &310). For our SurfStretch® boardshorts, we suggest purchasing your regular pant size.
Which boardshorts are SurfNyl® and SurfStretch®?
Our 300, 310, and 311 boardshorts are made of our classic SurfNyl® material. The 806 and 808 boardshorts are made of our SurfStretch® material.
What is the difference between a 300, 310, and 311 boardshort?
The difference is the lengths of the outseams. Below are the length ranges for each:
300 boardshorts outseam - 16.5-19 inches
310 boardshorts outseam - 15-17 inches
311 boardshorts outseam - 17-19 inches
What is the difference between an 806 and an 808 boardshort?
The difference is the lengths of the outseams. Below are the length ranges for each:
