Product Details

A new classic that lives up to Birdwell’s high quality standards. Inspired by magic hour on the California coast. Now available in odd sizes.

No one can deny the awesome power of a beautiful sunset — especially one that follows a long day of enjoyment in the sand and surf. Thanks to suggestions from our customers, we’re building on the legacy of our limited-edition first pair with a brand new version built from our 4-way flexible SurfStretch™. Cut and sewn in Santa Ana with the same unique multi-color top stitching and “Sunset” patch on the left leg that made the original a customer favorite, this versatile but understated pair ensures the day’s last ride isn’t the end of the action.

The 808 Sunset Board Shorts, whose style number honors surfing’s Hawaiian roots, is a modernized version of Ms. Birdwell’s original design built in versatile, motion-friendly SurfStretch™️ — a four-way stretch nylon that’s light, soft, and just as durable as traditional fabrics
