Product Details

A modern icon to celebrate 60 years. Vertical stripes down the sides and classic colors nod to the timeless cool of 1960’s California. Classic medium length, designed to flatter the female form.

In 1961, with a surf scene just gaining steam in Southern California, Carrie Birdwell Mann sewed the first pairs of “Birdies”. Since then, we’ve gone on to make quite a bit more. But we’re still doing just that—making the highest quality board shorts right here in Southern California.

This short features a flattering fit and a four-way flexible SurfStretch™ fabric, plus 2 inches of additional length compared to our original 402s. After 60 years of testing in the surf and sun, we’ve made careful refinements to our board shorts along the way, but they’re still made by hand to last a lifetime or more.
